Freedom Quilt
The Freedom Quilt is taken from the book ‘Facts & Fabrications - Unraveling the History of Quilts and Slavery’ by Barbara Brackman. The quilt commemorates the 200th anniversary of the abolition of the slave trade in Britain. Although it would be many years before many of the African slaves gained their freedom, this was a beginning.

The Civil War Diary Quilt
Taken from the book by Rosemary Youngs, we will send out the instructions and fabrics for two blocks per month, for eight months, at the end of which you will have a small, wall-hanging sized quilt. Price is £7.50 per month.

The book, which is essential reading, as it is a fascinating account, in authentic letters, is priced at £15.00 plus £2.50 P&P for those joining this B.O.M.

After the initial eight months. further blocks will be offered for those wishing to make a larger, historical quilt (at extra cost)

New Block of the Month

As the Crow Flies is a new block of the month in a naive, country style, using raw-edge appliqué which has been done on the sewing machine but which can easily be done by hand.

The quilt, designed by Meme's Quilts, features nine different blocks - some are two smaller components making the whole block - with crows, hearts, stars and houses uniting the blocks as they repeat, but with no two blocks exactly the same. We have chosen lovely country colours, including many plaids for this quilt. The finished size is 42" x 53" approx.

Each month, we will supply the instructions and fabric for one block and the joining strips, as they are needed. The price will be £8 per month to include postage, over nine months.

Suitable backing and wadding can be supplied at a later date, at extra cost.

Also new is Home Sweet Home, a block of the month over nine months. £9.50 per month, taken from the book Home Sweet Home by Barb Allen and Alma Allen. At a special price of £15.99 + £2.50 P&P.

Historic Fabric Club

We have many new historic fabrics – too many and various to describe – we are always adding new ones. We will get some of these onto the website, in a dedicated area, but they come and go fast. If you are interested in reproduction, historic fabric, then join this Historic Fabrics Club – for just £6/month, we send 4 fat eighths of a new historic fabric group club members receive a 10% discount on that month’s selection.
